Bid farewell 2017 & Welcome 2018

What a year for 2017! This was the year that I continue to challenge myself (nice way to say it). The reality is, I have no idea why I am so daring to sign up all those races.

Compare to Year 2016, I joined lesser races (just 2 only la actually...), spent lesser for registration fees (mainly due to I missed 2 Spartan Races), but the total distance increased. Lol~ no wonder people always said - "No turning back!" Once you start to go for further, you only keeping moving further and further, and not going back.

Thanks to all my running buddies, especially Linglyee who "spark" me to register for long distance trail run (>10km)! And always push me to keep running whenever on tarmac road during trail run! She was one of the evil who tempted me to go for all these challenging race. Ok la, should be we tempted each others! Sometimes, we just need that little "push" and also impulsive on registering race. *word of advice - only do this when you have the determination to train for it or you have the level of body condition to take the challenge*

There were a few achievements that worth to mention -

Ofcourse, the first would be my virgin Full Marathon - Twincity Marathon which happened in January2017 and going to happen again on a few weeks time! I am greatly appreciate all the supports and cheers from friends and the running community. I am proud to be a runner who is a "Marathoner" now.

The next one would be Cultra 2017 - 30KM!!! I have survived and finished this trail run (or hike?!) within cut-off time. I was in my narcissism state for weeks after Cultra. Lol~

I cycling a lot lesser this year, and join less cycling event due to all the clashing schedule. But, I did signed up for my first ever Duathlon, in support of my friend's event - Kerian Duathlon. Part of the reason being not much Duathlon accepted foldie. Lucky enough, I got a podium finish for this event.

Lastly would be about OCR (obstacles race) - I conquered most of my OCRs by myself even it cost me lots of punishment for failure on obstacles. The most memorable one would be The North Face Outdoor Challenge - it was on my birthday and the first time ever I got blister on my feet and it burst in the middle on run!!!

(A)My 2017 achievements (B)Trail runs (C)Road runs (D)Ops, so lonely for cycling (E)OCRs (F)3 cute podium trophies for my 2017 collection

I am lucky enough to get a few free slot for races, hence the saving for registration but end up use for other expenses.

  • Thank you Amazonian Race by SCORE.my for the free slots (team of four).
  • Thank you Spartan Malaysia for the free slot on Spartan Sprint.
  • Thank you Samantha and Ash be Nimble for the Malaysia Women Marathon free slot of HM.
  • Thank you Puma Night Run for having me as pacer (contributing in exchange for free run? Lol~), it was a great experience for me to be pacer, bringing others back to finishline was awesome!
  • Thank you Merrell Malaysia for the choosing me as the winner for a slot to King of Sungai Lembing.

2018, please be good to me! Let's challenge all together and push the limit further and further. Mostly importantly - injury free!!
